Legal Concerns
--------------
Since GameDirector is a tool for editing game files, there are
some concerns about its proper uses.
First, the knowledge and information about the contents of the
game files might be protected by copyright law or the license
agreements from the respective companies which own the games.
The users of GameDirector are advised to be careful on this
issue.
Second, there is no plan to include any definition file for any
commercial or copyrighted game in the current release except for
the examples. The users need to write their own definitions for
their own target games.
Third, there will be efforts to get legal authorizations for
distributing JUDGE files for popular games. However, this is
impossible if the users don't support GameDirector. Thus, please
register and send in your contributions of idea and JUDGEs.
Also, MAKE A LOUD VOICE TO THOSE COMPANY!!! Maybe they would
provide their own JUDGE files as customers request.

Overview
--------
GameDirector is a game data editor for computer games. It is
universal and easy to use.
It is universal because it provides JUDGE (Jack's Universal
Definition language for Game Editing) as a definition language to
interpret data in files. That means users can use Gamedirector
on almost any game file, as long as they can define it.
Moreover, the users can even have different definitions for the
same file!
It is easy to use because data editing becomes filling up couples
of forms in GameDirector. The form entry is more readable and
convenient than HEX editing. Some descriptive information can
also be attached to a field for instructing the users what values
should be entered. Furthermore, since the forms are defined in
JUDGE, the users can add, delete, and modify the definitions any
time they want. The definitions can grow with the users'
progress in the games.
Of course, GameDirector would be the most useful to role-playing
games. But it is not limited to that. Any computer game, even
the shoot-them-all type, can still benefit from GameDirector, if
the game saved progress data in a file.
Part of the strength of GameDirector is in its uses of JUDGE
language. JUDGE provides structural definitions for data and its
interface for editing. The definitions for a data file is viewed
as a 'module.'
A module consists of several records. A record is a collection
of data fields. There are two types of records -- absolute and
relative. The absolute record are for 'flat' data fields, i.e.,
there will be only one data object in the file which associates
with the field. The example for such record would be team data
in a role-playing game. The relative record are for data fields
which are used in several set of data in the file. The exa
